For the one who really ‘cares’

Do “they” have a heart?

Our beloved Mumbai is the city that is so loved throughout the world that everyone wants to have a piece of it. But, some elements mistook Mumbai’s popularity for a battlefield where they can sort out their differences with the world.

Over and over again, our city has been ravished, but we continue to sleep over it. 7 blasts in the trains of Mumbai, and the next day, the city is back to normal. Does this necessarily mean that the city has the never-die spirit or is it the speedy erosion of memory? 3 places in South Mumbai were hijacked, and instead of helping us get out of the terror and get back to normal, the politicians are made to resign. Amidst the terror
stricken citizens of India, unfortunately we have some ridiculous fools trying the rule the country, taking this as a brilliant advantage for their election campaigns.

When I first saw the BJP campaign on Star One I was filled with utter disgust and irritation. Our Home Minister resigns when he was not even involved in the rescue operations. The NSG and Marcos did everything by themselves. Our Chief Minister is being forced to resign, when all he could possibly do at that point in time is sit at home and look. Earlier Mumbai was a battlefield for the terrorists and now the issue has become a blame game for the so-called law preservers of the country. If BJP knew that their opponents were not doing their job then they could have objected earlier! If BJP would have been in Congress’ position would the security have been better? Of course not! All of them are the same.

I have always optimistic about my country and the government ruling it. But now the water is overflowing. There is no room left for any hope of improvement. The real issues that have been highlighted during the terror attack have been side-lined. The people are forced to forget about these and look into the matter of our ridiculous unstable government. The entire issue is a mockery and used as a puppet against Congress. I really wish the entire Parliament House would have been blasted and all the politicians and MPs would have died. That way, the old hags would have nicely gotten done with. All the corruption and manipulation would have gone with them. Their stale minds filled with hay would have suddenly disappeared, opening the opportunity for the youth to take over.

The elections will happen again. Congress will be blamed for everything and BJP will come into power. But what good has BJP done? Didn’t Akshardham happen during Modi’s time, who is a hardcore BJP member? The country has come to a point in its history, where one party is worse than the other. There is a desperate need for a new fresh government.

The real issue

Instead of fighting over petty politics let’s sit down and address the real issue for once. Let’s not forget the people. There will be no one to rule.

Apparently, the cops train only to pass their entrance exams and then sit and eat (everything from food to money) and get awesomely big paunches. They should be asked to train each and everyday. If they are not fit, how can the citizens feel safe? They should be equipped with something better than a 6-bullet pistol. And has the government heard of bullet proof jackets and walky-talkies? Instead of one common one for an entire group, each one should have a separate one for himself.

The NSG is stationed only in Delhi. Why the hell! Are only politicians important for the safety of the integrity of the country? I have never felt the need to spit on the government more than now. If you are running the country then dare not have the audacity to be selfish!

After the blasts in the trains, there were metal detectors installed, only at the socalled important stations of the city. Well do they work…may be not! Are there enough police officials to actually monitor the entry and exit of people in these stations…hell no! What is the government trying to show by this? “Oh we care for our citizens safety”…bullshit!

The big hotels were taken for granted. Did we ever even imagine an attack on the country’s most well-known hotels? The kind of security for its guests is not at all up to the mark. While recruiting staff, is there any verification done of their identity? If “yes” then the terrorists would not have been recruited as chefs. Even when guests come in, shouldn’t there be some sort of verification of their identity as well? Again, the terrorists would not have lived at the Taj as guests!

The most “brilliant” thing that happened during such time is that, there was curfew in the areas near where the terrorists attacked. Instead of thinking of the safety, it became an entertainment arena for some our citizens including Javed Jaffari. Why can’t we understand that the military’s complete attention should be on the safety of the hostages and getting rid of the terrorists? But if we burden them by crowding there, then do they channel their attention towards the safety of those inside or those outside? We desperately need the citizens to be given military training, so that the citizens understand that we aren’t supposed to come in the way of the military and know how to take care of themselves.

And lastly, anything happens in India blame Pakistan. Neither the media nor the politicians are getting the point here. First you remove the terrorists from their roots. And that will not happen without the cooperation of Pakistan. So instead of pointing fingers at them why not join hands with them? Once that’s over then we can move on to the next step of cleaning up the Pakistan government…if there is a real need to do so. The point here is not to support or blame Pakistan, but to remove the common enemy first and then go to the issue of our relations with Pakistan.

I do not have the guts to take on the responsibility of running the country. But I hope my, rather the country’s message goes to the person who truly “cares”!

I sincerely wish everyone votes for “No Vote” in Voting Machines.
That is the only way we can actually exercise democracy and bring about some change.

uve spoken my mind

thanks i needed to say it but words werent coming out..i have lost all my will to vote and why and for whom, should i???

Hey pralika,

The only way we can get rid of this mess is by voting. The best part is that you dont really have to vote for anyone. There is something called the NO VOTE. If the number of no vote’s received are more than those that the winning candidate receives then he is not allowed to run for elections from that constituency or at all (i dont know which one of them but one for sure) So make sure that our no-votes allow younger better equipped educated people to come to the fore.

i agree with you but i do not agree voting (or no vote) really helps. “Democracy’ in India is just a facade saving the callous and corrupt system functioning in this country. The political party’s either believe in dynasty politics or petty regionalistic, separatist views .Thus, the educated youth is stuck in between party politics. The political parties get votes as they target the poor, uneducated masses of this country promising them of facilities which actually is a necessity and their right but is made out to be a luxury Eg. clean water and electricity.Another colossal problem is the beurocracy. The truth of the matter is ,In India very few of us know how to handle ‘power’ ” Power Corrupts. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely”. The truth is noone in this country thinks of the “greater good” and that we miss out What democracry really stands for.

I’m knda stuck now!
On one side I feel if we go for NO VOTE then the majority will not be allowed to stand for elections again…thus paving the way for a new majority
But on the other hand who will come to power later…does anyone have the capacity ro do so?
Well maybe I’m not there to answer that question…as citizens of the country we must do whatever it takes to awaken everyone! I’m sure once they see that we don’t want any of these hypocrits…then someone who really “cares” will come forward and take over…lets hope and pray for that!

See think about it.

Politics has become a business.
Which means right product at the right time.
Once they understand that the public is going to continue to NO VOTE they will have to put out good candidates or it might just influence one of us to do something (hoping for that) and it will make sure that even if these fucks do get elected they will know that we are there to question them at every stage.

The point is to make sure that they know that now we will question and instill a sense of fear in them.

Lets make them scared. Be sadist’s in relishing this pleasure of making them accountable.

Jai Hind

Haha bubba…thats awesomely saddistic…and I am with you on that :)

” Vote for NO VOTE” :D

Pratik people like you and me , form about 5% of this country.today you and i can think that no vote as an option cause we have everything , but the people who do not have everything, the ones who live below the poverty line, this is not an option for them.Every election brings hope , its like sunrise for them. And the truth is they vote cause if they dont they wont get electricity, ration and water none of these things.

But Nupur…our media is brilliant…even if they get a large number of NO VTES…people will still realise that we need a change…and maybe the government that comes in power…will realise that if they dont work well..we’re not gonna keep quiet!

why cant v start a NO-VOTE campign and let the media know the reason for doin so thn it wil reach the politicans and hopefuly they get the msg then.

While the ‘no-vote’ which you refer to may sound excitng, take a minute to understand its implications. The provision can be found under rule 49O of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961 (and not in the consti- of which a lame rumour is being spread by a rogue sms).

The rule is merely an indication of a voter refusing to vote. with the introduction of electronic voting machines, one has to approach the presiding officer from the Election Commission and ask for the relevant form and once filled, the voters choice is noted. THERE IS NO PROVISION FOR DISQUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATES OR RE-ELECTION.

This means that even if there are more no-votes than votes for a particular candidate, there MAY NOT be a re-lection or disqualification. This doesnt that the rules may not be developed or amended. However, at present the 49-O may hold little or no consequence:

“Rule 49-O. Elector deciding not to vote.-If an elector, after his electoral roll number has been duly entered in the register of voters in Form-17A and has put his signature or thumb impression thereon as required under sub-rule (1) of rule 49L, decided not to record his vote, a remark to this effect shall be made against the said entry in Form 17A by the presiding officer and the signature or thumb impression of the elector shall be obtained against such remark.”

Further rule 54A (8) reads “A postal ballot paper shall be rejected- …2 (aa) if no vote is recorded thereon…”

FYI

And otherwise agree wit you Payal !

hey ani!! i’m a lil confused…with the electronic voting system…i heard a few ppl saying that u have the option “None of the above”…is it true…n in that case there is no other form or any such thing right???
well consequences wont change…but still…gk

As far as i have read, EVMs (electronic voting machines) do not have an option of none of the above, or anything similar presently. But a form is said to be available with the presiding officer like i said. I’m sure that this process is hampered by red tape and takes a long time. Its probably not worth the effort in light of 54A (8) anyway. If you ask me the rules are shrouded with ambiguity. Legislators must take note! Lets file a PIL watsay… haha

Apparently there was much hue and cry over the same in the SC a few years back. See http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1333972.cms
